Dating apps share data that are intimate users, claims customer team

TBILISI, Jan 14 (Thomson Reuters Foundation) – Popular dating apps like Grindr and OkCupid share personal data about users, including their location and sex, with about 100 other organizations, a consumer that is norwegian stated on Tuesday, because it filed an issue about breach of privacy guidelines.

The Norwegian customer Council found that 10 trusted Android os apps that gather painful and sensitive data about wellness, medication usage, and intimate choices passed a few of it on to marketing and advertising organizations without obviously informing users.

“These methods are out of hand and in breach of European information security legislation,” said Finn Myrstad, manager of electronic policy when it comes to Norwegian customer Council.

“It is impossible for users to regulate this due to the fact conditions and terms are actually very very long and impossible to understand,” he told the Thomson Reuters Foundation. Read the rest of this entry »
